The primary ministry offered by ACT For Today is psychotherapy. Psychotherapy is provided for individuals and couples, adolescents and adults.
Ideally, therapists providing this counseling ministry are members of the parish or a neighboring parish. It is a fundamental belief in ACT For Today that the witness of such community based therapy is part of the therapeutic process in many cases. However, serious and appropriate attention and precaution is made to avoid entering dual relationships and for assessing the suitability for therapy in this context for each client. ACT For Today adheres to all ethical principles of the psychotherapy profession and is committed to acting always in the best interest of the client.
Services offered by Dr. Seishas
Dr. Seishas offers therapy to adults and adolescent individuals and to couples seeking to resolve life issues that cause significant distress in their lives and relationships. Depression, anxiety, or conflict can plague all of us, sometimes as a recent experience or over the course of many years. These experiences will often interfere with our daily life in profound ways.
Psychotherapy (counseling) can be helpful in relieving emotional distress caused by conflict. Two things are fundamental in successful therapy: a willingness to work hard and take action in one's life outside the counseling office and the development of a good rapport between oneself and the therapist. Together therapist and client work to explore important issues and develop meaningful and practical strategies to improve daily living.
